Behind the Scenes โ€” What Happens to Your Flowers Once They Arrive

Ever wondered what happens after you hand over your precious flowers for preservation? Here's a little peek behind the curtain at Alma Makes, where your blooms are treated with all the love and care they deserve.

1. ๐ŸŒฟ Careful Inspection & Sorting

As soon as your flowers arrive, I gently unpack and inspect each one. I look for any signs of damage, wilting, or mould, and separate them by condition and suitability for preservation. If anythingโ€™s not usable, Iโ€™ll always let you know.

2. ๐Ÿ’จ Drying Process

Next, the drying begins. Each flower is carefully placed in a drying agent to preserve its shape and colour. This step can take up to 3โ€“4 weeks, depending on the flower type and moisture content.

3. โœจ Design Planning

While your flowers are drying, I start planning your layout. Iโ€™ll refer to your chosen design โ€” whether itโ€™s a sphere, block, tray, or something else โ€” and map out a composition that feels balanced, beautiful, and true to your story.

4. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Handcrafting in Resin

Once the flowers are fully dried, I begin the resin work. This involves multiple pours, each one carefully layered to ensure depth, clarity, and bubble-free results. Resin takes time to cure, so patience is key!

5. ๐Ÿช„ Finishing Touches

After curing, your piece is demoulded, hand-sanded, and polished to perfection. I check for any final touch-ups and make sure everything looks just right before itโ€™s ready for collection or delivery.

๐ŸŒผ Each piece is more than just resin โ€” itโ€™s a memory, frozen in time.
