How to Prepare Your Flowers for Resin Preservation

So you’ve decided to preserve your bouquet — how exciting! 💐 Whether it’s your wedding flowers, memorial blooms, or a meaningful arrangement you want to keep forever, the next step is making sure those flowers arrive in the best possible condition.

Here’s how to prepare your flowers so I can transform them into a beautiful, lasting keepsake:

1. 🕒 Act Quickly

The fresher the flowers, the better the final result. Try to get your bouquet to me within 24–48 hours after your event.

2. ❄️ Keep Them Cool

Store your bouquet in a cool, shaded place, away from direct sunlight, heaters, or radiators. Warm environments will cause the petals to wilt faster.

3. 💧 Hydrate the Stems

If you're keeping the bouquet for a day or two before drop-off, place the stems in a vase with a small amount of clean water (just an inch or so). This helps keep them hydrated without causing stem rot.

4. 🤲 Handle With Care

Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray on your flowers. Be gentle when handling or transporting them — squashing the petals or wrapping them too tightly can affect their shape.

5. 📦 For Postal Drop-Offs

If you're posting your bouquet, wrap the stems in damp (not soaking) paper towel, secure it with cling film, and place it in a cardboard box with ventilation. Add tissue paper for gentle cushioning and avoid sealing it in plastic bags.

6. 💌 Not Sure? Just Ask

If your flowers have started to wilt or you're unsure if they’re still suitable for preservation, just get in touch. I’ll do my best to advise or work some flower-saving magic.
